🚨 Alarm: SP9001 – SSPA:01 MOTOR OVERHEAT
What does this alarm mean?
The spindle amplifier has detected that the spindle motor temperature is too high. To protect the spindle motor from damage, the CNC stops spindle operation.
Simple Meaning: Your spindle motor is overheating.
Common Symptoms
- SP9001 alarm appears during machining.
- Spindle stops suddenly.
- Alarm occurs after long machining cycles.
- Spindle motor feels unusually hot.
- Machine runs normally when cold but alarms after continuous operation.
Most Common Causes
1. Heavy Cutting Load (Most Common)
The spindle is working beyond its continuous rating.
Check:
- Deep cuts
- High feed rate
- Large cutter diameter
- Incorrect spindle speed
Solution: Reduce cutting load and optimize machining parameters.
2. Cooling Fan Failure
If the spindle motor cooling fan stops or airflow is blocked, the motor temperature rises quickly.
Check:
- Is the cooling fan running?
- Are air vents blocked with dust?
- Is airflow restricted?
Solution: Clean or replace the cooling fan.
3. High Ambient Temperature
Poor ventilation or a hot machine environment can reduce cooling efficiency.
Solution:
- Clean filters.
- Check panel air conditioner or cooling system.
- Improve ventilation around the machine.
4. Mechanical Load on the Spindle
A damaged spindle bearing or excessive friction forces the spindle motor to work harder.
